Youth Empowerment, Masai Mara
Helping the young people of the Mara to identify their desired careers, to work out what training they need, and how they can achieve this. Once they are trained, we help with CV writing and interview practice. We also work with local camps and other employers to provide internship opportunities for them and advertise open positions widely in the community to ensure that the most qualified person gets employed.
$50: Covers one career guidance session with a school or youth group
Help support a vulnerable and needy Maasai child through boarding school. The cost of this is $700 per year per child. Children are identified on an as-needs basis. They are frequently pre-pubescent girls who are facing female genital mutilation and child marriage to middle-aged suitors.

Share to empower wild places:
Asilia operates in some of the most spectacular wild places in Africa. Yet they are fragile, under immense pressure, where the needs of both people and wildlife are often juxtaposed.
Empowering both people and places is essential if the habitats, upon which we all depend, are to survive.
We’ve selected a number of reputable and effective local partners as the drivers of these interventions. These partners tackle the issues of education, community upliftment and wildlife conservation in meaningful ways, getting to the source of the problems rather than treating the symptoms.
